Doping-free? YES!
We are pleased that the equestrian community is doing so much to improve their horses' comfort during the summer months by using Absorbine Ultrashield spray.
There has been a lot of misinformation regarding Ultrashield and doping regulations. Therefore, we would like to clarify that there are no, and never have been, any ingredients in Ultrashield Black that are or have been on the FEI's list of banned substances! You can confidently use Ultrashield spray on all sport horses without any issues, including during competition – and the same naturally applies to Ultrashield Green.
We have previously advised against using Ultrashield Green on horses participating in trotting, racing, or other competitions in Sweden. Ultrashield Green used to contain cedarwood oil, which is prohibited by some Swedish federations. However, this ingredient has now been removed, meaning you can safely use Ultrashield Green on ALL sport and racehorses if you have one of the new bottles without cedarwood oil (the label clearly states whether it contains cedarwood oil).
Always remember to use the products according to the instructions. If you are unsure about using certain products when competing, we recommend contacting your veterinarian or the relevant equestrian federation.
If you have any further questions about Ultrashield or other Absorbine products, please contact our customer service team.
