Can Ultrashield be used on foals and mares?

  • YES - you can use Ultrashield Green on DRY mares.
  • YES - you can use Ultrashield Green on DIEGIVING/LAKING mares, we recommend that you are careful around the udder during the period when the foal is learning to drink.
  • YES - you can use Ultrashield Green on FOALS from newborn onwards.

Ultrashield Green and doping

We have previously recommended that Ultrashield Green should not be used on horses participating in trotting or gallop races or competitions in Sweden. There used to be cedarwood oil in Ultrashield Green, however, this ingredient has been removed, so you can safely use Ultrashield Green for ALL sport and race horses if you have one of the new bottles without cedarwood oil (the label on the bottle clearly states if it contains cedarwood oil). Ultrashield Green does not contain and has never contained substances that are or have been on the FEI doping list.
