TheMB09 mouthpiece corresponds to a two-piece snaffle bit. The difference between the traditional two-piece bit and the Myler two-piece is that the Myler two-piece snaffle bit is slightly curved and therefore ergonomically shaped to the horse's mouth. This increases comfort as it gives the horse more freedom in the mouth. However, it does not provide the same peace of mind as a Myler mouthpiece with a cylinder, as the two-piece bit can still "break" in the horse's mouth and risk pinching the tongue.

A bit with D-rings gives a calmness in the horse's mouth compared to a traditional snaffle bit with loose bit rings. The loose bit rings can rotate at the sides of the mouthpiece, whereas the D-rings cannot, which makes them lie still and stable against the horse's cheek.

Horse at Level 1:
  • The horse is to be broken in or has just started breaking in.
  • The horse is about to or is learning the basics of gaits, transitions and obedience.
  • The horse has been ridden a bit, but is still learning basic signals.
  • The horse has a challenging temperament.
