Clothing

Riding clothes and safety equipment for the quality-conscious show jumper!

The rider's clothing is an important element for both everyday life and competitions - there are requirements for comfort, style and special rules for show jumping attire. In order to work optimally with the horse, the clothing must fit well and follow the rider's movements without creasing and chafing. At the same time, it needs to be breathable and wick sweat away from the body during hard training and on hot days.

You probably know your personal preferences best, for example when it comes to breeches - do you want full leather or knee leather? When it comes to safety in show jumping, we all have our own preferences when it comes to riding helmets and jumping vests. A good riding helmet is a must and can be a lifesaver in a fall or crash with your horse. Champion designs great riding helmets that are not only comfortable to wear, but also have the strictest safety approvals.

When it comes to show jumping, there are special requirements for event participation. Unless otherwise stated, you must wear a show jumping jacket with a shirt underneath. There are no requirements for the color of the jacket, but the shirt underneath must be light-colored; you must also wear a light-colored tie or plastron, if you are wearing a shirt with shirt tabs. At first glance, a shirt doesn't sound like the most comfortable way to play sports - however, there are many competition shirts on the market. Competition shirts are stylish and elegant in design and, most importantly, provide freedom of movement, are sweat-wicking, airy and comfortable to wear under a competition jacket.

Safety equipment is also an important part of a show jumper's clothing, as show jumping is a discipline with speed and tempo and thus associated with risk. Under DRF, it is required to wear a riding helmet at competitions in both show jumping and dressage, and it is required for riders under 18 years of age to wear a safety vest at competitions.years are also required to wear a safety vest at competitions and all riders are required to wear a helmet and safety vest in cross-country in the eventing discipline.

A safety vest protects the rider's back, ribs, shoulders and neck in the event of a fall or crash with the horse. There are two main types of safety vests - the hard shell and the airbag vest, which inflates when the cartridge is triggered during a fall or crash. Helite is one of the leaders in airbag vests and has a wide range of vests and outerwear combinations that can be combined with an air bag jump vest.
