Clothing

Dress for comfort and breathability all along the route!

The rider's clothing is an important element for long hours in the saddle. It requires comfort, freedom of movement and breathability - and most people have personal preferences. There aren't many rules for what a rider should wear for endurance riding; however, you should wear either a t-shirt, polo shirt or shirt with sleeves, and long pants are required.

You probably know your personal preferences best, for example, when it comes to breeches - should they be full leather or knee leather? In addition to a riding helmet , wearing a safety vest is now very common.

Safety vests come in two different versions - the traditional hard shell and the air bag vest. Champion Equestrian Wear has designed their popular TI22 safety vest, which is known for a high level of comfort and elegance. The Champion Body Protector is available in many sizes, so there is a jumping vest for all ages and sizes.

Helite manufactures air bag safety vests that deploy in the event of a fall or crash. An air bag vest has panels along the spine, neck, shoulders, hips and ribs; the panels fill with air when the cartridge is deployed. Helite is a leader in air bag vests and has a wide range of vests and outerwear combinations that can be combined with an air bag jump vest.

You probably know your personal preferences best when it comes to, for example, breeches. At Riding Equipment we are fans of the breeches from Irideon Riding Wear. All models from Irideon are designed in close collaboration with the rider in the saddle; this results in a perfect fit that is developed for the purpose for which it is to be used.

Gloves are also an important factor as the weather gets colder. Heritage has gloves for every need - both riding gloves and work gloves. Heritage designs gloves for both summer and winter. Summer riding gloves are airy and soft with reinforcement in the right places between the fingers, while winter gloves are thick and lined - some even have small pockets on the back of the hand where you can place a thermal insert.
