Daniel Bachmann Andersen - Bachmann Dressage
Daniel introduces himself: “My name is Daniel Bachmann Andersen. I was born in 1990. I live near Malling with my wife, Tiril, and our three children. I started riding at the age of seven in Hammel, where I grew up. My passion for horses truly began when I was ten years old and met former Olympic rider Morten Thomsen, who had just competed at the Sydney Olympics.
Morten Thomsen was a master rider, and I spent time daily in his stables in the following years. Over time, I also began competing on Morten’s horses. It was Morten who helped me move to Germany at the age of 16 to become an apprentice with Rudolf Zeilinger, the former Danish national coach.
After six years in Germany, I returned to Denmark as a qualified master rider. I’ve been fortunate to gain opportunities in many prestigious dressage stables. As the lead rider at Blue Hors, I achieved numerous international top placements with Zack, Zepter, Don Olymbrio, and many others.
In 2019, Blue Hors Zack and I won the Danish Dressage Championship. In August of the same year, I was part of the Danish team that finished fifth at the European Championships in Rotterdam, securing Denmark’s qualification for the Tokyo Olympics. My goal has always been to focus on the horses while maintaining a professional approach to the sport and my clients. In 2020, I stepped down as head rider after five years at Blue Hors to pursue my dream of becoming self-employed. Today, Tiril and I run Bachmann Dressage near Malling.”
In recent years, Daniel has distinguished himself with a series of remarkable results, including riding Vayron at the Paris Olympics in 2024. Together with the Danish national team, he secured a silver medal and placed seventh individually with a score of 84.850%.
Daniel is an ambassador for Absorbine care products, Myler bits, and BitTex.
Daniel shares: “We use Absorbine care products for our horses in the stable. Ultrashield, Showsheen coat shine, Hooflex hoof oil, and CoolDown are among our favorites, both for everyday use and at competitions.
I’ve also used Myler bits for several years with young horses and was thrilled to discover that Myler also makes Weymouth bits and bradoon bits. Many horses benefit from the tongue relief and the stability and calmness these bits provide. Marshall, in particular, has thrived since switching to Myler bits, which gave him the necessary calmness and clear communication.”
