Leather care

We typically have a lot of leather equipment for our horses, and it can be hard work for the leather when exposed to dirt, dust, sweat and grease from the horse. That's why it's important to take effective care of the leather so we can extend its lifespan and optimize its appearance. For this, Absorbine   of course, we have a solution: the effective range of leather care products Leather Therapy.

Leather Therapy includes the leather soap Wash and the leather conditioner Restorer & Conditioner. Both Absorbine 's leather soap and leather conditioner are designed to deeply nourish and bring out the natural color of the leather. To finish off, you can use Leather Finish, which gives the final touch to a beautiful surface and can help protect the leather; and Water Repellent, which is an impregnation for leather and effectively protects leather against water, mud and the Danish weather in general.  Leather Therapy can be used for all types of leather products, not just riding gear. You can use Absorbine   leather soap, leather balm and leather protection for shoes, boots, bags etc.

Leather treatment and care - Step by step

Step 1: Leather soap

Start by cleaning the leather with Leather Therapy Wash - a gentle, clear, oil-free spray. Wash is a leather soap that cleans leather from the inside out by using microscopic soap molecules to lift dirt and grime from the inner fibers of the leather. This treatment protects the leather and prevents degradation and cracking. Wash can be used on all natural leather, synthetic leather and suede - best applied with a damp sponge or cloth.

Step 2: Leather conditioner

After thoroughly cleaning the leather, the next step is Leather Therapy Restorer & Conditioner. This product keeps the leather soft and extends its durability - by keeping the leather soft and supple, the risk of cracks and splits will be reduced. Restorer & Conditioner further lifts soap and oil residues from the inner fibers of the leather while deeply conditioning and softening, restoring and strengthening the leather's natural color. With regular use, Restorer & Conditioner will prevent and inhibit mold and mildew.

Step 3: Impregnating leather

If you're treating a pair of shoes, a jacket, a saddle or anything else that may have to withstand a wet environment, it's a good idea to treat the leather with Leather Therapy Water Repellent. Water Repellent is an impregnation for leather to make it more resistant to moisture. Water Repellent can protect both natural and synthetic leather, suede and nubuck - protecting from the inside out without the use of silicone, wax or oil.

Step 4: Extra care for leather

Once you have completed the steps you want from 1-3, you can choose to give your leather some extra love with Leather Therapy Finish. This is a leather care product that provides extra protection and shine - it's a brilliant touch-up for riding gear before a competition or if your leather shoes or boots need to look extra sharp.
