MB01 Combination 3-ring // MB01 3-ring combination bite

Independent Side Movement

TheMB01 mouthpiece is anatomically shaped - the slight arch allows the horse to swallow. The MB01 has no port, which means that the bit is tongue-less. The MB01 mouthpiece is similar to the MB02 mouthpiece, but the cylinder in the middle is narrower. The cylinder in the middle means that the mouthpiece does not "collapse" in the horse's mouth. As the mouthpiece has no tongue clearance, the bit puts pressure on both the tongue and the loader, Myler however, the bit distributes the pressure more evenly over the tongue than the traditional two- or three-part snaffle bit.

The bit can be used for the disciplines:

  • Show Jumping
  • Distance

It can also be used for training in the disciplines Western and Icelandic, however, it is not approved for competition in these disciplines.

Thecombination bit has several features that have made it a popular bit on the market. The bit is not just a traditional mouthpiece and bit rings, but is equipped with several features that refine the communication with the horse.

The combination bit has a noseband and chin/jaw strap that applies pressure that the horse is familiar with from the halter. When you make contact on the bridle, these pressure points are the first to be affected - on the bridge of the nose, under the chin and in the neck. If the horse doesn't yield to this pressure, the mouthpiece on the bit will give a signal in the horse's mouth. The bit ring is equipped with a stop block, so initially the horse's mouth will only be minimally affected - if the horse does not relieve the pressure here, the block will activate the mouthpiece and put more signal in the horse's mouth.

The combination bit is available with different mouthpieces and different degrees of tongue freedom. In addition, the Myler combination bit is available with either two or three rings.

The horse at Level 1:

  • The horse is to be broken in or has just started breaking in.
  • The horse is about to or is learning the basics of gaits, transitions and obedience.
  • The horse has been ridden a bit, but is still learning basic signals.
  • The horse has a challenging temperament.

Independent Side Movement

Some of the Myler bits are equipped with so-called "Independent Side Movement". As the name suggests, this allows the rider to move each side of the bit independently of each other. This means that when the rider pulls on one rein, the horse gets a very clear signal as only one side moves. This provides effective shoulder control and bending of the horse.
