MB33 English Dee with original hooks // MB33 with D-rings and hooks

Independent Side Movement

TheMB33 mouthpiece is Myler the high port mouthpiece, and thus a bite with the MB33 is the bite with the most tongue freedom. In addition to having a port, the mouthpiece is anatomically shaped to the horse's mouth. The mouthpiece has a cylinder in the middle of the gate, which provides Independent Side Movement.

This bit is well suited for disciplines :
  • Show Jumping
  • Distance
  • Hunter
A bit ring with hook allows you to fix the cheek piece of the snaffle and rein in the bit ring. This can give your horse more stability and peace in the mouth, as the bit is kept in place in the horse's mouth at all times.

If you attach the cheek piece of the snaffle to the top hook, the hook will help keep the bit in place in the mouth when you loosen the bridle and praise the horse. If the top hook is not used, the bit will "fall" into the horse's mouth and settle on the tongue. The horse will not feel as clearly that you are releasing the pressure on the bridle.

If you attach the rein through the lower hook in the bit ring, you will achieve better control of the horse's shoulder. If the rein is not attached to a hook, it will slip in the ring, so you need to apply extra pressure to achieve the same result with the shoulder. The hook keeps the bridle in place and provides more stability in the signal on the loaders.

An added benefit of attaching the bridle to the hook is that you can take advantage of Myler the bit's "independent side movement" - meaning you can move one side of the bit without affecting the other. This creates the greatest possible calm and stability in the horse's mouth.

Thehorse at Level 3 :

  • The horse is far along in its training or fully trained - it is cooperative and obedient.
  • The horse is relaxed on the bit and understands signals from the bit.
  • The horse masters difficult exercises.
  • The horse reacts well and understands the signals from the seat, legs and rein.

Independent Side Movement

Some of the Myler bits are equipped with so-called "Independent Side Movement". As the name suggests, this allows the rider to move each side of the bit independently of each other. This means that when the rider pulls on one rein, the horse gets a very clear signal as only one side moves. This provides effective shoulder control and bending of the horse.
