Myler Monday - Baucher side piece

At Riding Equipment, we have "Myler Monday" every Monday, where you can learn more about the Myler system!

The Baucher bit is also known as a suspension bit. This simply means that the cheek pieces of the bridle and reins are not attached to the bit in the same ring. For the rider it doesn't mean much, but for the horse it can mean a lot.

Many people mistakenly believe that a suspended Baucher bit signals the horse's neck - this is not correct. The suspension only ensures that the bit is calm and stable in the horse's mouth, they do not put pressure on the horse's neck, as there is no exchange or bar effect on a Baucher bit.

For small horse heads, we have designed the Baucher bit with a smaller suspension - the Small Baucher, which is not as large as the normal Medium Baucher, which is suitable for larger ponies and horses.
