Myler Monday - Bit with loose rings

At Riding Equipment we have "Myler Monday" every Monday, where you can learn more about the Myler system!

Myler The mouthpieces come with a variety of different bit rings/side pieces - and they are also available with loose bit rings. Many people ride around with a traditional two-piece snaffle bit with loose bit rings. But just as most horses prefer a bit with tongue freedom (which a two-piece mouthpiece doesn't provide), many horses also prefer a fixed sidepiece instead of the loose bit rings.

The reason is that if you have a bit with loose bit rings, both the rein and cheek piece are mounted in the same ring as the mouthpiece. For the horse, this means that all impact is propagated, which causes unnecessary anxiety for the horse.

The loose rings do not provide the same level of calm and stability that the horse experiences with, for example, the Baucher side piece or a side piece with hooks.
