ThePelham bit has a suspension and two rings for the reins. The Myler Pelham bit comes with a foam chain that must be tightened under the horse's chin to give the bit the correct effect. The Pelham bit can be used with either a delta rein or two reins - if you use two reins, you can regulate the bar effect of the bit as you can use the "bar rein" as needed. The foam chain means that there is leverage on the bit, which puts pressure on the horse's neck, under the chin and extra signal in the mouth.

The horseat Level 1:

• The horse is to be ridden or has just started to be ridden.
• The horse is about to or is learning the basics of gaits, transitions and obedience.
• The horse has been ridden a bit, but is still learning basic signals.
• The horse has a challenging temperament.

Independent Side Movement

Some of the Myler bits are equipped with so-called "Independent Side Movement". As the name suggests, this allows the rider to move each side of the bit independently of each other. This means that when the rider pulls on one rein, the horse gets a very clear signal as only one side moves. This provides effective shoulder control and bending of the horse.
