MB06 Pony English Dee with hooks // MB06 with smaller D-rings with hooks

Independent Side Movement

TheMB06 mouthpiece is anatomically shaped to the horse's mouth and has a port that gives the horse freedom of tongue. Mouthpieces are equipped with a cylinder that prevents the bit from "buckling" and thus putting pressure on the horse's tongue; the cylinder also allows the bit to have the Independent Side Movement function. The difference between the MB04 and MB06 mouthpieces is that the cylinder on the MB06 is wider than on the MB04. The wide cylinder makes the mouthpiece completely stable.

This bite is well suited for the disciplines:
  • Jumping
  • Distance
  • Hunter
It can also be used for training your Icelandichorse , however, it is not approved for competition use for Icelandichorses .

A D-ring bitgives a calmness in the horse's mouth compared to a traditional snaffle bit with loose bit rings. The loose bit rings can rotate at the sides of the mouthpiece, while the D-rings cannot, which makes them lie still and stable against the horse's cheek.

A bit with a hook allows you to attach the cheek piece of the snaffle and rein to the bit. This can give the horse more stability and calmness in the mouth, as the bit is kept in place in the horse's mouth at all times.

If you attach the cheek piece of the snaffle to the top hook, the hook will help keep the bit in place in the mouth when you loosen the bridle and praise the horse. If the top hook is not used, the bit will "fall" into the horse's mouth and settle on the tongue. The horse will not feel as clearly that you are releasing the pressure on the rein.
If you attach the rein through the lower hook in the bit ring, you will achieve better control of the horse's shoulder. If the rein is not attached to a hook, it will slip in the ring, so you need to apply extra pressure to achieve the same result with the shoulder. The hook keeps the bridle in place and provides more stability in the signal on the reins.
An added benefit of attaching the bridle to the hook is that you can take advantage of Myler the bit's "independent side movement" - meaning you can move one side of the bit without affecting the other. This creates the greatest possible calm and stability in the horse's mouth.

Thehorse at Level 2-3 :

  • The horse has training equivalent to Level 2, but has a good temperament and can therefore benefit from a bit with more tongue freedom.
  • The horse has training similar to Level 3, but requires more support and control as it is not ready for the freedom of the Level 3 bit.
  • The horse shows resistance and reluctance to the Myler Level 2 bites.

Independent Side Movement

Some of the Myler bits are equipped with so-called "Independent Side Movement". This is, as the name indicates, allows the rider to move each side of the bit independently of each other. This means that when the rider pulls on one rein, the horse gets a very clear signal as only one side moves. This provides effective shoulder control and bending of the horse.
