Optimize your horse's performance
Both at competitions and in everyday life, we want the horse to perform as well as possible. Of course, training is a big part of that, but the equipment also plays a huge part in the work effort and performance. Imagine going for a long walk with shoes that are half a size too small or a backpack that is crooked - it will be an extra long walk and probably take longer than it would otherwise have done if the shoes and backpack had fit properly. Therefore, of course, we owe it to the horse to use equipment that fits correctly and fits properly.

Take the weightoff if necessary
Just like humans, horses have different needs. One horse may do best with one type of girth, while another horse prefers a different girth. For example, some horses are extra sensitive in the girth area and need a girth with extra padding in the form of real or artificial lambskin. Others are sensitive in the back - this could be due to a previous injury, their physiology or something else.

Shock absorption for the rider
When riding, both the horse's and rider's backs are exposed to a wide range of shocks up and down the spine, which can be uncomfortable and stressful in the long run, and in the long run lead to a bad back for both parties. With a pad that effectively absorbs these shocks, you can increase the durability of both your horse's and your own back. A Matrix underlay is a great choice if you're looking for a pressure-distributing and shock-absorbing underlay. You can choose the pad that gives you the right level of pressure distribution and shock absorption, but you can read more about this on the Matrix page.

Sit better in a downhill trot
Many riders benefit from a shock-absorbing Matrix pad - even if they don't suffer from back pain. We often hear, especially from warmblood riders, that they find it easier to sit down at the trot, as the horse's large gait is cushioned by the shock-absorbing effect of the pad. So, shock absorption is as much for comfort as it is for the horse, and it's a bonus for the horse if the rider sits better and more calmly.
